Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled was established in the year 1997 by Founder Managing Trustee Mahantesh G Kivadasannavar and his friend, late Nagesh S.P.
Samarthanam works on the empowerment of people with disabilities, the poor and the underprivileged, making them independent in every possible way. We want to make a difference in the lives of people hailing from weaker sections and the disabled through our initiatives which are diverse and involve people from various walks of lives.
Samarthanam’s initiatives focus on Education, Skilling of Youth, Disability Sports, Child Nutrition, Environment and Recycling, Rehabilitation of women, and their empowerment.

Majority funding support comes from corporate (CSR) and the rest from PSUs, individual donors and private institutions.
We have received immense support from individuals, corporate, Government, development agencies, and educational institutions. Samarthanam provides 50% tax exemption on all donations received as per the Indian Income Tax Act, Section 80G.
If an NGO gets itself registered under 80G, then any person or organization making a donation to that NGO will get a deduction of 50% of his/her/its Taxable income on the donation amount made.
A minimum donation of Rs 250 is eligible for tax exemption.
Yes. We do issue Receipts and Tax exemption Certificate, and they will reach you within 15 working days.
Yes. We provide tax exemptions on cash donations but limited to Rs 2000 per person in one year.
Yes. A duplicate copy of the receipt will certainly be provided.

Yes. NRI (Non-Resident Indian) donors, who are Indian citizens, holding an Indian passport are eligible to avail 50% tax exemption under 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act. Please do not forget to mention your Indian PAN Card Number in the online donation form to avail tax benefits.
Samarthanam is a registered 501C charity in the USA since 2012. Donors from the USA can avail tax exemption under Section 501(c)(3).
501 (c) (3) is the portion of the US Internal Revenue Code that allows federal tax exemption of Non-Profit Organizations. It is regulated and administered by the US Department of Treasury through the Internal Revenue Service.
We would not be able to provide tax exemption for UK residents.
