STATUS REPORT OF REC FOUNDATION PROJECT

Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, with the purpose of providing job oriented skills exclusively to the “specially abled and Economically weaker sections of the society, flagged off its long awaited Skill Training program in Collaboration with Rural Electrification Corporation Foundation (REC Foundation) in Bangalore and Dharwad during the month of January 2021 & Ananthapur and Guntur in February 2021. Since the commencement of the training program, Samarthanam has successfully trained 110 Candidates (PWD’s-90, EWS-20) in sector specific skills like BPO, Retail and hospitality along with English, IT and soft-skills and has thus enhanced the employment opportunities of these candidates. With themandate of providing sustainable livelihood with a decent income, the in-house placement team across all the training centers have placed 33 candidates at various companies, despite the rampant spread of COVID 19 across the country. Samarthanam wishes to intensify and expand the same program to other proposed locations with increased vigor and commitment and coupled with continuous support from REC Foundation will help to reach out to many more.
