Samarthanam Trust launches scribe connect platform for students with disabilities Making Scribe Support Free Reliable Accessible and Verified
Bengaluru, September 10, 2026: Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled today launched the Samarthanam Scribe Connect Platform. This free technology-enabled initiative connects students with disabilities who need scribes for examinations with verified volunteer scribes. Smt Rani Satish, Former Minister of Kannada and Cultural Dept. & Former Deputy Speaker, Vidhana Parishath, along with Dr Mahantesh G. Kivadasannavar, Founder & Managing Trustee, Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, as part of Teachers' Day celebrations at the Trust's HSR Layout campus in Bengaluru.
Every exam season, thousands of students with visual impairments and physical disabilities rely on scribes to sit their exams. Finding one nearby who speaks the right language and is free on the exam date has, until now, meant families searching through personal contacts with no assurance of a match. Scribe Connect addresses this gap directly: students submit their exam details, and the platform automatically searches for and notifies registered, Aadhaar-verified scribes within a 2–3 km radius, expanding the search until a match is found. The platform is fully accessible with screen readers such as JAWS, TalkBack, and VoiceOver.
