Inauguration of Tinker lab in Mahila Mandali Vidya Samsthe

Samarthanam Trust, a leading NGO to impart futuristic skill sets among students is helping build a culture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship by setting up Tinker Labs across schools, pan India.

A CSR initiative of Can Fin Homes Ltd, and implemented by Samarthanam Trust, Tinker Lab was set up at Mahila Mandali Vidya Samsthe, a 70 year old School with 250 students, having classes from 5 to 10 in Bengaluru. Amongst those present on the occasion were: Shri Amitabh Chatterjee, Deputy Managing Director, Can Fin Homes Ltd, Dr Mahantesh G. Kivadasannavar, Founder Managing Trustee, Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, Smt Sushilamma S. Rao, President Mahila Mandali Samsthe

Speaking at the function, Shri Amitabh Chatterjee, Deputy Managing Director, Can Fin Homes Ltd congratulated the School as well as the students and urged every student to make use of this opportunity and upskill their creativity. He also handed over a cheque of Rs. 25.54 lacs to Samarthanam Trust for implementing Tinker Labs in two Govt. Schools. Dr Mahantesh G.K. asked the students to work on their unlimited imagination and be more creative, in their everyday tasks.

Tinker Lab is a concept lab that provides school students a space where they learn and innovate using technology and other resources. It helps to imbibe and foster 21st century skills. It enables them to enhance their critical & lateral thinking, and fill in the gaps with their innovative ideas. Tinker Labs contains educational equipment like a 3D printer, Robotic kit with sensors, open source ARM-based embedded system, software programming languages to develop games, animations, mobile apps, artificial intelligence & Machine learning.

Tinker labs showcase an important aspect of 21st century skills, whereby students decide the future of Technology in the coming Years.
