Digital Book Library

The Digital Library was started in May 2008 and aims to reach out and catalyze education for the print-disabled persons (visually impaired, slow-learners and dyslexic children). As the prime focus is on school and college students so we concentrate on making the course materials available through digital means. Under the guidelines of DAISY the books are scanned, edited, typed, recorded and edited by our team ensuring optimum quality of work so that people with disabilities can access the content in an audio mode of the screen reading software called JAWS.

The disabled students produce their text books which need to be converted into a digital form, volunteers who wish to record these books help in converting the text books. The final audio is put in a CD and the students can use it according to their convenience. The library now has around 60 books and the number is growing. The type of recording done helps students learn easily.
