Sunadha, a unique Cultural troupe of Visually Impaired dancers

A group of 7 Visually Impaired dancers of Sunadha Troupe are invited by AKKA, to perform at World Conference in the US.


Samarthanam has established a cultural troupe Sunadha to encourage talent among the visually impaired, disabled and underprivileged youth to nurture their skills and confidence to perform in front of an audience. The troupe has presented its talent across India, the USA and the UK. Samarthanam aims to establish a National Cultural Academy as a center for excellence in order to provide opportunities to the talented disabled artists to fine tune their skills and exhibit their talents on national and international platform.

A group of  7 Visually Impaired dancers of Sunadha Troupe are invited by AKKA, to perform at World Conference in the US. The troupe will be performing group dances in Indian Classical dance forms like Bharathanatya, popular folk dance form and the traditional Kolata.

The visually impaired dancers will tour US for the next 2 months giving performances and intend to raise funds for the proposed Samarthanam’s Disabled friendly Residential School building at HSR, Bangalore. The troupe is led by Ms. Vasanti Savanur, Trustee, Samarthanam , and dance teachers Ms. Raksha and Ms. Manasa Joshi..
